Photonics. The purpose of this area is to prepare researchers, professors, and technical experts who specialize in the areas of electro-optical devices, optical signal processing, and/or electro-optical systems. For example, the growth of semiconductor materials and their application to the development of radiation emitting devices and detectors, optical characterization of materials, or applications of optical fibers are studied.
